• 今日の福音書で、ヤコブとヨハネはイエス様にお願いします。彼らは、イエス様が告げられた御国(みくに)でにおいて重要な位置(いち)を得(え)たいと願っています。しかし、彼らはイエス様が告げ知らせる御国の意味をよく理解していませんでした。ですからイエス様は、人間のように考えるのではなく、神様のように考えるようにと彼らを招(まね)いたのです。
• 「あなたがたの中で偉(えら)くなりたい者は、皆に仕(つか)える者になり、いちばん上になりたい者は、すべての人の僕(しもべ)になりなさい」。これは人間の考え方ではありません。人間の考え方は最初の者が最後の者になることはできません。人間の考え方は最初の者が仕えるのではなく、仕えられるのです。しかし、イエス様はその反対のことを言われます。
• 人のようにではなく、神様のように考えるよう私たちを招く2つの例を挙(あ)げましょう。一つ目は、5年前にバチカンで起こった出来事です。教皇フランシスコは南スーダンの政治指導者(せいじしどうしゃ)たちを迎えました。この国は長年(ながねん)にわたって内戦状態(ないせんじょうたい)にありました。教皇は彼らに平和のために働くよう求めました。そして、彼らに近づき、ひざまずき、足にキスをしました。「いちばん上になりたい者は、すべての人の僕になりなさい」。
• 2つ目の例は、私の家族に関(かん)するものです。子供の頃から、両親に「ホセ・ラモン、一生懸命働けば、人生で何でも成(な)し遂(と)げられるよ」と言われたのを覚えています。日本でもそう言われますか？それが人間の考え方です。しかし、24歳のときにイエスキリストに出会って、人生で最も大切なことは自分の力では決して達成(たっせい)できない、神様からの贈り物として与えられるのだということを知りました。
• 神様と同じように考えることを学ぶことがいかに大切か！このようにして、人生を神様からの真(しん)の贈り物として受け取ることができます。そして、この贈り物に感謝して、私たちはイエス様がされたように、他者への奉仕(ほうし)と献身(けんしん)の人生を生きるのです。神様が私たちを理解し、見ておられるように、私たちも世界と自分自身を理解し、見ることができるように、少しずつイエス様に助けていただきましょう。

1 – En el Evangelio de hoy Santiago y Juan hacen una petición a Jesús. Quieren un puesto importante en el Reino que Jesús ha estado anunciando. Sin embargo, no entendieron bien el significado del Reino que Jesús anuncia. Y por eso Jesús les invita a pensar como Dios y no como los hombres.

2 – Por eso Jesús les dice: “Quien quiera ser el primero, que sea el último y el servidor de todos”. Esta no es la manera de pensar de los hombres. El primero no puede ser el último. Y el primero no sirve, sino que es servido. Sin embargo, Jesús nos dice lo contrario.

3 – Voy a poneros dos ejemplos que nos invitan a pensar como Dios y no como los hombres. El primero sucedió hace cinco años en el Vaticano. El Papa Francisco recibió a los líderes políticos de Sudan del Sur. Un país que lleva muchos años de guerras internas. Y el Papa les pidió que trabajaran por alcanzar la paz. Y acto seguido, se acercó a ellos, se arrodilló y les besó los pies. “Quien quiera ser el primero que sea el último y el servidor de todos”.

4 – El segundo ejemplo es de mi familia. Desde que era niño, recuerdo que mis padres me decían: “José Ramón, con esfuerzo lo conseguirás todo en la vida”. ¿Eso se suele decir también aquí en Japón? Así suelen pensar los hombres. Sin embargo, cuando me encontré con Jesús a los 24 años descubrí que las cosas más importantes en la vida nunca las conseguiría por mis propias fuerzas, sino que las recibiría como un don de Dios.

5 – ¡Qué importante es aprender a pensar como Dios lo hace! Así es posible ver la vida como un verdadero don de Dios. Y como agradecimiento a este don, vivimos la vida en servicio y entrega a los demás, como hizo Jesús. Pidámosle a Jesús que nos ayude, poco a poco, a entender y ver el mundo y a nosotros mismos como lo entiende y lo ve Dios.

1 – In today’s Gospel James and John make a request to Jesus. They want an important place in the Kingdom that Jesus has been announcing. However, they did not understand well the meaning of the Kingdom that Jesus announces. And so Jesus invites them to think like God and not like men.

2 – That is why Jesus tells them: “Whoever wants to be first, let him be last and servant of all”. This is not the way men think. The first cannot be last. And the first does not serve, but is served. However, Jesus tells us the opposite.

3 – I am going to give you two examples that invite us to think like God and not like men. The first happened five years ago at the Vatican. Pope Francis received the political leaders of South Sudan. A country with many years of internal wars. And the Pope asked them to work for peace. He then approached them, knelt down and kissed their feet. “Whoever wants to be first must be last and the servant of all”.

4 – The second example is from my family. Ever since I was a child, I remember my parents telling me: “José Ramón, with effort you will achieve everything in life”. Is that what they say here in Japan too? That’s the way people think. However, when I met Jesus at the age of 24, I discovered that the most important things in life I would never achieve by my own strength, but would receive them as a gift from God.

5 – How important it is to learn to think as God does! In this way it is possible to see life as a true gift from God. And in gratitude for this gift, we live life in service and dedication to others, as Jesus did. Let us ask Jesus to help us, little by little, to understand and see the world and ourselves as God understands and sees us.
