• クリスマスまであとわずか。私たちは待降節の最後の日曜日を祝っています。福音書には、イエス様を身ごもったマリアが、いとこのエリザベトに会いに行く様子(ようす)が書かれています。福音書記者ルカは、マリアが「急いで山に向かった」と述べています。つまり、マリアはエリザベトの家に急いだのです。それはどんな理由からでしょうか？例えば、エリザベトの出産の手助(てだす)けをするためとか。
• しかし、私は、そう簡単には思いつかないような動機(どうき)を考えることが大切だと思います。マリアの使命(しめい)は神の母となることです。しかし、その使命と同時に、すべての人を自分の息子イエス様のもとに導くという使命もあるのです。だからこそ、聖母マリアはいとこの家に急いだのだと思います。彼女は一刻(いっこく)も早く、エリザベトにイエス様について話し、イエス様のことを知ってもらいたかったのです
• 実際、イエス様を最初に気づいたのは、興味深(きょうみぶか)いことに、まだ生まれていない赤ちゃんでした。洗礼者ヨハネは、母の胎内(たいない)で神の存在に気づいたとき、喜びのあまり飛び跳(は)ねました。胎児(たいじ)が生きる権利(けんり)を否定されることが多い今日(こんにち)、胎内ですでに、イエス様が近くにおられることに気づいて喜び躍(おど)った赤ちゃんがいたのです。
• クリスマスを間近に控(ひか)えた今、水曜日までの忙しいスケジュールの中で、時間を見つけてみませんか。イエス様の誕生のイメージを思い浮かべる静かな時間を持つためです。そして、イエス様の誕生に関する福音書を読むのです。黙想(もくそう)と祈りの時間を見つけて、クリスマスに向けて心の準備をしましょう。

Để có thể thinh lặng và chiêm ngắm hình ảnh về sự ra đời của Chúa Giêsu. Hãy đọc một đoạn Phúc Âm kể về việc ra đời Chúa Giê su. 1 – Estamos ya muy cerca de la Navidad. Estamos celebrando el último domingo del adviento. Y en el Evangelio escuchamos cómo María, embarazada de Jesús, acude a ver a su prima Isabel. Dice el evangelista Lucas que María “se puso en camino deprisa hacia la montaña”. Es decir, que María tenía prisa por llegar a casa de Santa Isabel. ¿Por qué motivo sería? Seguro que podríamos pensar en muchos motivos obvios como por ejemplo para ayudar a Isabel en el parto.

2 – Pero creo que es importante pensar en un motivo que quizá no surge tan fácilmente. La misión de María es ser la madre de Dios. Pero junto a esa misión está también la misión de llevar a todos hacia su hijo Jesús. Y por eso es por lo que creo que la Virgen María tenía prisa en llegar a la casa de su prima. Quería, cuanto antes, poder hablarle a santa Isabel de Jesús y que así le conociera.

3 – De hecho, el primero en reconocer a Jesús, curiosamente, es un niño todavía no nacido. Se trata de Juan el Bautista, que desde el vientre de su madre saltó de alegría al reconocer la presencia de Dios. Hoy en día, cuando en muchas ocasiones se le niega a un niño no nacido el derecho a la vida, podemos ver cómo ya desde el vientre materno, hubo un niño que saltó de alegría al reconocer que Jesús estaba cerca.

4 – Ahora que estamos tan cerca de la Navidad, quizá es un buen momento para buscar un rato en nuestra ajetreada agenda antes del miércoles. ¿Para qué? Pues para poder tener un rato de silencio y contemplar una imagen del nacimiento de Jesús. Y también leer uno de los relatos evangélicos que cuentan el nacimiento de Jesús. Busquemos un rato para la contemplación y la oración y que eso nos ayude a preparar bien el corazón para la Navidad.

She wanted, as soon as possible, to be able to speak to St. Elizabeth about Jesus so that she could get to know him.

3 – In fact, the first to recognise Jesus, curiously enough, is an unborn child. He is John the Baptist, who in his mother’s womb leapt for joy when he recognised the presence of God. Today, when on many occasions an unborn child is denied the right to life, we can see how already in the womb, there was a child who leapt for joy when he recognised that Jesus was near.

4 – Now that we are so close to Christmas, perhaps it is a good time to find some time in our busy schedule before Wednesday. Why? Well, to have some quiet time to contemplate an image of the birth of Jesus. And also to read one of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ birth. Let’s find some time for contemplation and prayer and let that help us to prepare our hearts well for Christmas.
