• 私たちは今、一年の始まりの福音書の朗読を聞きましたが、一年の終わりと同じメッセージだと思うかもしれません。その通りです。なぜ、待降節の初めにイエス様がこのようなことをおっしゃるのでしょうか？
• 待降節ではクリスマスを祝う準備をします。クリスマスには何を祝いますか？子どもたちはこの質問に、イエス・キリストの誕生の準備をすると答えることが多いです。私は子供たちに「でも、赤ちゃんイエス様は2000年前にお生まれになったんだよ。だから、準備する必要はないんだよ」と答えます。すると子どもたちは答えに困ります。では、私たちは待降節に何を準備するのでしょうか？
• 確かに、待降節の間、私たちは2000年前のベツレヘムという村を思い起こします。神様が私たちのところに来て、人となられたことを祝います。しかし、過去に目を向けるだけでなく、未来にも目を向けます。イエス様は2000年前に来られましたが、いつか終わりの時に再び来られると約束されたからです。ですから、待降節は、私たちがその時を準備するための呼びかけでもあります。イエス様がいつ来られるかはわかりませんが、私たちはイエス様が来られる時のために準備する必要があるです。
• ですから、この待降節の時期(じき)には、毎日祈りの時間を少し増やすことをお勧(すす)めします。祈りはイエス様の到来(とうらい)に備えるための特別な方法です。また、赦しの秘跡に与ることもお勧めします。神様との和解もまた、神様に近づくための特別な方法です。私たち司祭は、皆さんが神様からのこの贈り物を受け取れるようにお手伝いします。ためらわずに、私たちに申し出てください。
• この新しい年迎えるにあたって、心を整えることから始めましょう。そうすれば、イエス様が終末に来られるとき、私たちはイエス様とともに永遠のいのちの宴(うたげ)に入る準備ができていることしょう。

Chúng ta hãy bắt đầu năm mới này bằng cách chuẩn bị tâm hồn thật tốt. Để khi Chúa Giêsu đến vào thời sau hết, Người sẽ thấy chúng ta sẵn sàng bước vào bàn tiệc sự sống vĩnh cửu với Người.

1 – Acabamos de escuchar el evangelio y quizá pensemos que el año empieza con el mismo mensaje con el que acabó el año. Y así es. Escuchamos en el evangelio de nuevo a Jesús hablar del fin de los tiempos. ¿Por qué escuchamos a Jesús hablar de estas cosas al comienzo del adviento?

2 – En adviento nos preparamos para celebrar la Navidad. Y en Navidad, ¿qué celebramos? Los niños suelen responder a esta pregunta diciendo que nos preparamos para que nazca el Niño Jesús. Y entonces yo les digo: “Pero si el niño Jesús ya nació hace 2000 años. No hace falta prepararse para que nazca porque ya ha nacido”. Y entonces los niños se quedan sin respuesta. Entonces, ¿para qué nos preparamos en el adviento?

3 – Efectivamente, en el adviento miramos al pasado, hace 2000 años, en un pueblo llamado Belén. Recordamos y celebramos que Dios ha venido hasta nuestro lugar y se ha hecho hombre. Pero no solo miramos al pasado, sino que también miramos al futuro. Porque Jesús vino hace 2000 años pero prometió que un día volvería al final de los tiempos. De modo que el adviento es también una llamada de atención para que estemos preparados. No sabemos cuándo vendrá Jesús al final de los tiempos, pero queremos estar preparados para cuando venga.

4 – Por eso, durante este tiempo de adviento, os propongo que dediquemos algo más de tiempo a diario a nuestra oración. La oración es un instrumento privilegiado para prepararse para la venida de Jesús. También os propongo que acudáis al sacramento de la confesión. Reconciliarse con Dios es otro de los instrumentos privilegiados para acercarse a Dios. Los sacerdotes estamos disponibles para que podáis recibir este regalo de Dios. Sólo tenéis que pedírnoslo… sin vergüenza.

5 – Comencemos este nuevo año preparando bien nuestro corazón. Para que cuando Jesús venga al final de los tiempos nos encuentre preparados para entrar con Él en el banquete de la vida eterna.

1 – We have just heard the gospel and we may think that the year begins with the same message with which the year ended. And so it is. We hear Jesus in the gospel again talking about the end times. Why do we hear Jesus talk about these things at the beginning of Advent?

2 – In Advent we prepare to celebrate Christmas. And at Christmas, what do we celebrate? The children often answer this question by saying that we prepare for the birth of the Christ Child. And then I say to them: ‘But the baby Jesus was born 2000 years ago. We don’t need to prepare for him to be born because he has already been born. And then the children have no answer. So what are we preparing for during Advent?

3 – Indeed, in Advent we look back 2000 years to a village called Bethlehem. We remember and celebrate that God came to our place and became man. But not only do we look to the past, we also look to the future. For Jesus came 2000 years ago but promised that one day he would return at the end of time. So Advent is also a wake-up call for us to be ready. We don’t know when Jesus will come at the end of time, but we want to be prepared for when he comes.

4 – So, during this time of Advent, I suggest that we spend a little more time each day in prayer. Prayer is a privileged instrument to prepare for the coming of Jesus. I also suggest that you go to the sacrament of confession. Reconciliation with God is another privileged instrument to get closer to God. We priests are available to help you receive this gift from God. All you have to do is ask us… without shame.

5 – Let us begin this new year by preparing our hearts well. So that when Jesus comes at the end of time He will find us ready to enter with Him into the banquet of eternal life.
