• 今週、私たちは聖アウグスティヌスの祝日を祝いました。私は神学生のときに彼の重要な著作(ちょさく)をいくつか学び、その著作の美しさに感銘(めい)を受けました。今日の朗読箇所(かしょ)を理解するのに役立つ聖アウグスティヌスの言葉を紹介したいと思います。「愛しなさい。そして、あなたが望むことを行いなさい」という言葉です。これを今日の福音書を使って説明しましょう。
• 今日の福音書でイエス様はファリサイ派の人々の偽善を糾弾(きゅうだん)されました。口先では神様を敬(うやま)うが、心は神様から離(はな)れています。つまり、彼らはあることを口にするが、心の中では反対のことを考えています。あるいは、手を拭(ふ)くなど、あることをするが、心は不純(じゅん)です。要するに、やっていること、言っていること、考えていることの間には統一性(とういつせい)がありません。手と頭と心の間には統一性がありません。さらに、内面が乱(みだ)れると外(がい)面にも表れます。しかし、これを一致させ、自己の内面を整(ととの)える鍵(かぎ)は何でしょうか？アウグスティヌスはそれをこう説明しています。「愛しなさい。そして、あなたが望むことを行いなさい」。
• 鍵は愛です。愛を第一に置(お)く人は誰でも、自己の内面を正しく整え始めます。しかも、あらゆる愛の中で、神様への愛がその第一となるように求められています。私の女性の友達がある日、夫に「あなたよりも愛している男の人がいます。」と言いました。夫は驚いて彼女に「誰ですか」と尋ねました。彼女は「イエス・キリストよ」と答えました。
• しかし、これはいつもそうであるとは限りません。時には、他の人や物を優先してしまうこともあります。例えば、「正しさ」を第一に置いている人のことを考えてみましょう。その人が何か正しくないことをした時、あるいは身近(みぢか)な人が何か正しくないことをした時、どうなるでしょうか？また、イエス・キリストへの愛が第一だとしたら、あなたはどう対応(たいおう)すると思いますか？
• 神様への愛を第一に置くことは、私たちの内面を整えることになります。そして、私たちの欲望もそうなります。だからアウグスティヌスは言うのです。自分の内面を吟味(ぎんみ)し、何が、あるいは誰が一番に来るのかを確かめてほしい。ただそれを言うだけでは十分ではありません。時々、私たちは神様が第一だと言いますが、実際にはそうでないことがあります。神様への愛を第一に考えることができるよう、神様に助けを求めましょう。

5 – Nếu chúng ta đặt tình yêu đối vớiThiên Chúa lên hàng đầu, thì tâm hồn của chúng ta sẽ được bình ân. Và đây cũng là cách, để kìm hãm những dục vọng của bản thân. Đó là lý do tại sao, Thánh Augustinô nói: “Hãy yêu đi, và rồi làm những gì bạn muốn”. Tôi mời bạn, hãy nhìn lại tâm hồn của mình, nhìn xem điều gì, hay ai, đang chiếm vị trí đầu tiên, trong lòng bạn. Điều đó không chỉ là, lời nói suông. Nhiều lúc, chúng ta nói Chúa ở vị trị đầu tiên, nhưng thực tế thì không phải vậy. Chúng ta hãy cầu xin Chúa, giúp chúng ta, luôn biết đặt tình yêu dành cho Ngài, lên vị trí đầu tiên.

1 – Esta semana hemos celebrado la fiesta de san Agustín. Cuando era seminarista estudié algunas de sus obras más importantes y quedé impresionado por la belleza de sus escritos. Quisiera compartir con vosotros una frase de san Agustín que nos puede ayudar a entender las lecturas de hoy. “Ama y, lo que quieres, hazlo”. Vamos a explicar esta frase usando el evangelio de hoy.

2 – En el Evangelio de hoy Jesús denuncia a los fariseos su hipocresía. Con los labios honran a Dios, pero con el corazón están lejos de Dios. Es decir, dicen una cosa, pero en el corazón piensan la contraria. O hacen una cosa, como limpiarse las manos, pero tienen el corazón impuro. En resumen, no hay unidad entre lo que se hace, lo que se dice y lo que se piensa. No hay unidad entre las manos, la cabeza y el corazón. Además, cuando el interior está desordenado, eso se muestra también en el exterior. Pero, ¿cuál es la clave para alcanzar esta unidad y ordenar nuestro interior? Agustín lo explica en su frase. “Ama y, lo que quieres, hazlo”.

3 – La clave es el amor. Quien colocar el amor en primer lugar comienza a ordenar adecuadamente su interior. Además, de todos los amores que hay, el amor a Dios está llamado a ocupar ese primer lugar. Por eso una mujer amiga mía un día le dijo a su marido: “Hay un hombre al que quiero más que a ti”. El marido sorprendido le preguntó: “¿Quién es?”. “A Jesucristo” respondió ella.

4 – Pero no siempre es así. A veces podemos colocar otras personas o cosas en el primer lugar. Pensemos por ejemplo en alguien que ha colocado en el primer lugar la “corrección”. ¿Qué sucederá cuando haga algo incorrecto o cuando alguien cercano haga algo incorrecto? Y si el amor a Jesucristo ocupa el primer lugar, ¿cómo crees que responderías?

5 – Colocar el amor a Dios en el primer lugar ordena nuestro interior. Y así se ordenan también nuestros deseos. Por eso dice Agustín: “Ama y, lo que quieres, hazlo”. Os invito a hacer un examen de nuestro interior y ver qué o quién ocupa el primer lugar. No basta sólo con decirlo. A veces decimos que Dios ocupa el primer lugar pero en realidad no es así. Pidámosle a Dios que nos ayude a colocar el amor a Él en el primer lugar.

1 – This week we celebrated the feast of St. Augustine. When I was a seminarian I studied some of his most important works and was impressed by the beauty of his writings. I would like to share with you a phrase of St. Augustine that can help us to understand today’s readings. ‘Love, and what you will, do’. Let’s explain this phrase using today’s Gospel.

2 – In today’s Gospel Jesus denounces the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. With their lips they honour God, but with their hearts they are far from God. That is to say, they say one thing, but in their heart they think the opposite. Or they do one thing, like wiping their hands, but their hearts are impure. In short, there is no unity between what is done, what is said and what is thought. There is no unity between the hands, the head and the heart. Moreover, when the inside is disordered, it also shows on the outside. But what is the key to achieve this unity and to put our inner self in order? Augustine explains it in his phrase. ‘Love and, what you want, do’.

3 – The key is love. Whoever places love in the first place begins to order his inner self properly. Moreover, of all the loves there are, the love of God is called to occupy that first place. That is why a woman friend of mine one day said to her husband: ‘There is a man I love more than you’. The husband asked her in surprise: ‘Who is he? She replied, ‘Jesus Christ’.

4 – But this is not always the case. Sometimes we can put other people or things in first place. Think for example of someone who has put ‘correction’ in the first place. What will happen when he does something wrong or when someone close to him does something wrong? And if love for Jesus Christ comes first, how do you think you would respond?

5 – Putting love for God in the first place puts our inner self in order. And so do our desires. That is why Augustine says: ‘Love, and what you want, do’. I invite you to examine your inner self and see what or who comes first. It is not enough just to say it. Sometimes we say that God comes first, but in reality this is not the case. Let us ask God to help us to put love for Him in the first place.
