• 典礼年(てんれいどし)の終わりが近づいています。そして、私たちは福音書の中でイエス様が終わりの時について言われることを聞きます。イエス様は終わりの時に伴(ともな)う災(わざわ)いについておっしゃいます。そのためか、この信仰の重要な部分について考えるとき、私たちは暗(くら)く不吉(ふきつ)なシナリオを想像しがちです。実際、映画にはこのような例がたくさんあります。自然災害、ゾンビ、死など。これは本当に神様が約束した未来(みらい)の世界なのでしょうか？
• こうしたことはすべて、人が永遠に生きたいと願う未来の世界を考える助けにはなりません。むしろ、これらすべてのことで私たちは逃(に)げ出したくなり、死の瞬間(しゅんかん)を恐(おそ)れて生きるようになります。しかし、イエス様は終わりのときと永遠の命について何をおっしゃっているのでしょうか。この問(と)いに答えるためには、聖書全体を知ることが重要です。その答えは、今日の福音のように、イエス様が終末(しゅうまつ)について明確におっしゃっている箇所(かしょ)だけにあるのではありません。その答えは、聖書全体の中にあるのです。
• 神様はご自身について何を啓示(けいじ)されたのですか？神様は無限の愛であり、愛から、愛するために私たちを創造されました。神様はまた、父であり、子であり、聖霊であるとも告げられました。そして、この無限の愛をすでにこの世で与えようとしておられます。そして死後も、永遠に。愛には永遠の刻印(こくいん)があるため、愛を経験した者は、終わりのときと永遠の命がどのようなものかをより容易(ようい)に想像することができます。
• 典礼年の終わりにあたり、終わりのときと永遠の命がどのようなものであるかを想像するために、祈りの時間を過ごすことを提案(ていあん)します。神様の御(おん)前で、祈ることで、暗く不吉(ふきつ)なシナリオを避(さ)けることができるでしょう。そうすれば、神様が私たちを愛してくださる無限の愛に与(あずか)ることができるでしょう。そして、神様の最後の到来(とうらい)を喜びをもって待つことができるのです。

1 – Nos acercamos al final del año litúrgico. Y por eso escuchamos en el evangelio a Jesús hablar del fin de los tiempos. Jesús hablas de desastres que acompañarán al final de los tiempos. Quizá por eso, en muchas ocasiones, cuando pensamos en esta parte importante de nuestra fe, tendemos a imaginar un escenario oscuro y siniestro. De hecho, el cine tiene muchos ejemplos de esto mismo. Desastres naturales, zombis, muerte, etc. ¿Realmente es así el mundo futuro que Dios nos ha prometido?

2 – Todo esto no nos ayuda a pensar en un mundo futuro en el que uno desee vivir para siempre. Más bien, todo esto nos lleva a querer huir y a vivir con miedo el momento de nuestra muerte. Pero ¿qué nos ha dicho Jesús sobre el fin de los tiempos y la vida eterna? Pues es importante, para responder a esta pregunta, conocer toda la Biblia. Porque la respuesta no es únicamente aquellos lugares donde Jesús habla explícitamente del fin de los tiempos, como en el evangelio de hoy. Sino que la respuesta la encontramos en toda la Revelación.

3 – ¿Qué nos ha revelado Dios de sí mismo? Que es Amor infinito y que nos ha creado por amor y para amar. También nos ha dicho que es Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Y ese amor infinito nos lo quiere regalar ya en esta vida. Y tras la muerte, para toda la eternidad. Porque el amor posee una huella de eternidad, quien ha experimentado el amor puede imaginar más fácilmente cómo será el final de los tiempos y la vida eterna.

4 – Ahora que llegamos al final del año litúrgico os propongo que dediquemos tiempo de nuestra oración a tratar de imaginar cómo será el fin de los tiempos y la vida eterna. Hacer eso en la presencia de Dios, dentro de la oración, nos ayudará a evitar escenarios oscuros y siniestros. Así podremos gozar todavía más del infinito amor con que Dios nos ama. Y esperar con gozo su última venida.

1 – We are approaching the end of the liturgical year. And so we hear in the gospel Jesus speak of the end times. Jesus speaks of disasters that will accompany the end times. Perhaps that is why, on many occasions, when we think about this important part of our faith, we tend to imagine a dark and ominous scenario. In fact, cinema has many examples of this very thing. Natural disasters, zombies, death, etc. Is this really the future world God has promised us?

2 – All this does not help us to think of a future world in which one wishes to live forever. Rather, all this leads us to want to flee and to live in fear at the moment of our death. But what has Jesus told us about the end of time and eternal life? In order to answer this question, it is important to know the whole Bible. Because the answer is not only in those places where Jesus speaks explicitly about the end times, as in today’s gospel. But the answer is to be found in the whole of Revelation.

3 – What has God revealed to us about himself? That he is infinite Love and that he created us out of love and in order to love. He has also told us that He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And he wants to give us this infinite love already in this life. And after death, for all eternity. Because love has an imprint of eternity, those who have experienced love can more easily imagine what the end of time and eternal life will be like.

4 – As we come to the end of the liturgical year, I propose that we spend time in prayer trying to imagine what the end of time and eternal life will be like. Doing so in the presence of God, in prayer, will help us to avoid dark and sinister scenarios. Then we will be able to enjoy even more the infinite love with which God loves us. And wait with joy for his final coming.
