• 私たちは「喜びの日曜日」とも呼ばれる待降節第3主日(じつ)を祝っています。待降節の真ん中にあるこの祝日の意味は何でしょうか？待降節の間、私たちは約2000年前のイエス様の到来(とうらい)を思い起こし、終末のイエス様の到来に備えます。ですから、待降節の最中に、イエス様の到来を待ち望むことは喜びであるべきだということなのです。私たちは、イエス様が来られることを喜びます！
• だからこそ、人々は洗礼者ヨハネに、自分たちは何を準備すべきかと尋ねるのです。イエス様の来臨(らいりん)に備えるために、自分に何ができるでしょうか？ヨハネは基本的(きほんてき)に、戒め(いまし)を守ることについて話しています。しかし、祈りと秘跡もまた、イエス様の到来に備えるために必要であることも付け加(くわ)えておかなければなりません。特にゆるしの秘跡と聖体拝領(はいりょう)について。
• ここで質問です：ご聖体を頂くこと、あるいはゆるしの秘跡で罪の赦しを受けることは、あなたの心を喜ばせますか？この質問に答えることは重要だと思います。私たちがミサに参加するのは、時には「しなければならないから」であって、「する必要があるから」ではないのかもしれません。もし私たちがご聖体を、ご自身の体と血を与えてくださるイエス・キリストとの真の出会いとして経験するならば…どうして、聖体拝領を喜ばないなんていうことができるのでしょうか？それはゆるしの秘跡も同じでしょう。
• つまり、私たちはイエス様のうちに喜びの源を見出すのです。そしてそれは、期限のない喜びなのです。私たちは今、多くの喜びを与えられる世界に生きています。しかし、それらはすべてつかの間の喜びです。私たちが神様と出会い、神様の恵みによって、私たちの心を永遠の喜びで満たしてくださることを感謝しましょう。

Chúng ta tìm thấy nơi Chúa Giêsu nguồn vui của chúng ta. Và đó là niềm vui không có ngày hết hạn. Bây giờ chúng ta đang sống trong một thế giới nơi chúng ta có nhiều niềm vui. Nhưng tất cả đều là niềm vui thoáng qua. Chúng ta hãy tạ ơn Thiên Chúa vì đã biết Người và vì với Ân Sủng của Người, Người làm cho tâm hồn chúng ta vui mừng với niềm vui vĩnh cửu mà chúng ta đã bắt đầu tận hưởng trong cuộc sống này.

1 – Estamos celebrando el tercer domingo de adviento que también se conoce como el “Domingo de la alegría”. ¿Qué sentido tiene esta fiesta en medio del adviento? Durante el adviento recordamos la venida de Jesús hace unos 2000 años y nos preparamos para la venida de Jesús al final de los tiempos. Por eso es bueno, a mitad del adviento, recordar que la espera de la venida de Jesús debe ser una espera alegre. ¡Nos alegramos de que Jesús vaya a venir!

2 – Y por eso la gente le pregunta a Juan el Bautista qué deben hacer para prepararse. Es una buena pregunta que también nosotros nos podemos hacer: ¿qué puedo hacer para estar preparado para la venida de Jesús? Juan habla básicamente del cumplimiento de los mandamientos. Pero conviene añadir también que la oración y los sacramentos nos mantienen también preparados para la venida de Jesús. Especialmente el sacramento de la reconciliación y la eucaristía.

3 – Y yo os preguntaría: ¿Os alegra el corazón celebrar la eucaristía o recibir en la confesión el perdón de vuestros pecados? Creo que es importante responder a esta pregunta. Quizá en ocasiones participamos de los sacramentos simplemente porque “tengo que hacerlo”, pero no porque “necesito hacerlo”. Si vivimos la eucaristía como un verdadero encuentro con Jesucristo que nos regala su Cuerpo y su Sangre… ¿cómo no vamos a alegrarnos en el corazón? Y lo mismo sucede con la confesión.

4 – Así que encontramos en Jesús la fuente de nuestra alegría. Y es una alegría sin fecha de caducidad. Ahora vivimos en un mundo donde se nos ofrecen muchísimas alegrías. Pero todas ellas son alegrías pasajeras. Demos gracias a Dios por haberle conocido y porque con su Gracia alegra nuestros corazones con una alegría eterna que ya empezamos a disfrutas en esta vida.

1 – We are celebrating the third Sunday of Advent which is also known as ‘Joy Sunday’. What is the meaning of this feast in the middle of Advent? During advent we remember the coming of Jesus about 2000 years ago and prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus at the end of time. That is why it is good, in the middle of advent, to remember that the waiting for the coming of Jesus should be a joyful waiting. We rejoice that Jesus is coming!

2 – And that is why people ask John the Baptist what they should do to prepare themselves. It is a good question that we can also ask ourselves: What can I do to be prepared for the coming of Jesus? John is basically talking about keeping the commandments. But we should also add that prayer and the sacraments also keep us prepared for the coming of Jesus. Especially the sacrament of reconciliation and the Eucharist.

3 – And I would ask you: Does it gladden your heart to celebrate the Eucharist or to receive forgiveness for your sins in confession? I think it is important to answer this question. Perhaps sometimes we participate in the sacraments simply because ‘I have to do it’, but not because ‘I need to do it’. If we experience the Eucharist as a true encounter with Jesus Christ who gives us his Body and Blood… how can we not rejoice in the Eucharist? How can we not rejoice in our hearts? And the same is true of confession.

4 – So we find in Jesus the source of our joy. And it is a joy without an expiry date. We now live in a world where we are offered so many joys. But they are all fleeting joys. Let us thank God that we have met him and that with his grace he gladdens our hearts with an eternal joy that we have already begun to enjoy in this life.
