Con esta fiesta terminamos el a\u00f1o lit\u00fargico y el pr\u00f3ximo domingo comenzaremos el primer domingo de adviento. \u00bfQu\u00e9 celebramos en esta fiesta de Jes\u00fas Rey del Universo? Para responder a esta pregunta nos vemos a fijar en una cosa. Cuando alguien habla de s\u00ed mismo, a trav\u00e9s de sus palabras nos permite conocerle. Por ejemplo, si alguien dijese: \u201cDeclaro a esta persona culpable de este delito y la condeno a un a\u00f1o de prisi\u00f3n\u201d. Podr\u00edamos decir que esa persona pretende ser un juez. Quiz\u00e1 lo sea o quiz\u00e1 no lo sea, pero pretende serlo con las palabras que dice. \u00bfY qu\u00e9 podemos decir de las palabras de Jes\u00fas? Hoy en el Evangelio escuchamos a Jes\u00fas decir de s\u00ed mismo que es Rey.\r\n\r\n2 \u2013 Y si escuchamos todas las palabras de Jes\u00fas que hay en los Evangelios podr\u00edamos decir que Jes\u00fas, realmente, es el \u00fanico y definitivo Rey del Universo. Porque se coloca a s\u00ed mismo en el lugar de Dios. Por eso podemos decir que, con sus palabras, Jes\u00fas dice de s\u00ed mismo que es el \u00fanico y definitivo rey del Universo. Y eso nos lleva a algo importante. Hace tiempo vi un testimonio de una mujer japonesa que hab\u00eda crecido en una familia sinto\u00edsta y fue a estudiar a Estados Unidos y all\u00ed vivi\u00f3 con una familia cristiana. Finalmente acab\u00f3 convirti\u00e9ndose al cristianismo y bautiz\u00e1ndose. Y esta mujer, cuando hablaba de su conversi\u00f3n dec\u00eda: \u201cY acept\u00e9 a Jes\u00fas como mi Salvador y mi \u00fanico Salvador\u201d. Es decir, no un salvador entre otros salvadores. No un Dios entre otros dioses. Sino el \u00fanico Dios salvador.\r\n\r\n3 \u2013 Y cuando decimos esto, es posible que dos pensamientos vengan a nuestra mente. Estos pensamientos est\u00e1n muy presentes en Europa y Am\u00e9rica, aunque creo que tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n presentes en Jap\u00f3n. El primero de ellos es: \u201cSi dices que Jes\u00fas es Dios y el \u00fanico Dios entonces, \u00bfno supone eso una ofensa para todos aquellos que no lo creen?\u201d Y el segundo pensamiento es: \u201cDecir que Jes\u00fas es el \u00fanico Dios ha sido la causa de muchas guerras en la historia. Y no nos traer\u00e1 nada bueno en el futuro\u201d.\r\n\r\n4 \u2013 \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos responder? Quiz\u00e1 yo pueda responder con mi propio testimonio. Yo tengo amigos musulmanes y ateos. Y ahora en la escuela estoy haciendo amistad con personas budistas. Con todos ellos he podido hablar de Dios, hablar de Jesucristo, de los deseos y los anhelos m\u00e1s profundos del coraz\u00f3n. Incluso con aquellos que son m\u00e1s amigos, he podido rezar. Y siempre fue una conversaci\u00f3n muy enriquecedora que me permiti\u00f3 conocer mejor otras tradiciones religiosas y el coraz\u00f3n de otros creyentes. Y que tambi\u00e9n me permiti\u00f3 dar a conocer m\u00e1s a Jesucristo.\r\n\r\n5 \u2013 Si se hace con amor, el di\u00e1logo interreligioso nunca ser\u00e1 una ofensa ni ser\u00e1 un germen de violencia y de guerra. - Today we celebrate the feast of Jesus King of the Universe. With this feast we end the liturgical year and next Sunday we will begin the first Sunday of Advent. What do we celebrate on this feast of Jesus King of the Universe? To answer this question we will look at one thing. When someone speaks about himself, through his words he allows us to get to know him. For example, if someone were to say: \u2018I find this person guilty of this crime and sentence him to one year's imprisonment\u2019. We could say that this person pretends to be a judge. Maybe he is or maybe he is not, but he is pretending to be a judge by the words he says. And what can we say about the words of Jesus? Today in the Gospel we hear Jesus say of himself that he is King.\r\n\r\n2 - And if we listen to all the words of Jesus in the Gospels we could say that Jesus really is the only and definitive King of the Universe. Because he puts himself in the place of God. So we can say that, with his words, Jesus says of himself that he is the only and definitive King of the Universe. And that brings us to something important. Some time ago I saw a testimony of a Japanese woman who had grown up in a Shinto family and went to study in the United States and lived with a Christian family there. She eventually converted to Christianity and was baptised. And this woman, when she talked about her conversion, she said: \u2018And I accepted Jesus as my Saviour and my only Saviour\u2019. In other words, not a saviour among other saviours. Not a God among other gods. But the only Saviour God.\r\n\r\n3 - And when we say this, two thoughts may come to mind. These thoughts are very much present in Europe and America, although I believe they are also present in Japan. The first one is: \u2018If you say that Jesus is God and the only God then isn't that an offence to all those who don't believe it?\u2019 And the second thought is: \u2018Saying that Jesus is the only God has been the cause of many wars in history. And it will not bring us any good in the future.\u2019\r\n\r\n4 - How can we respond? Perhaps I can respond with my own testimony. I have Muslim and atheist friends. And now at school I am making friends with Buddhists. With all of them I have been able to talk about God, to talk about Jesus Christ, about the deepest desires and longings of the heart. Even with those who are my closest friends, I have been able to pray. And it was always a very enriching conversation that allowed me to get to know better other religious traditions and the hearts of other believers. It also allowed me to get to know Jesus Christ better.\r\n\r\n5 - If it is done with love, interreligious dialogue will never be an offence, nor will it be a seed of violence and war.
