Escuchamos en el evangelio de nuevo a Jes\u00fas hablar del fin de los tiempos. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 escuchamos a Jes\u00fas hablar de estas cosas al comienzo del adviento?\r\n\r\n2 \u2013 En adviento nos preparamos para celebrar la Navidad. Y en Navidad, \u00bfqu\u00e9 celebramos? Los ni\u00f1os suelen responder a esta pregunta diciendo que nos preparamos para que nazca el Ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas. Y entonces yo les digo: \u201cPero si el ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas ya naci\u00f3 hace 2000 a\u00f1os. No hace falta prepararse para que nazca porque ya ha nacido\u201d. Y entonces los ni\u00f1os se quedan sin respuesta. Entonces, \u00bfpara qu\u00e9 nos preparamos en el adviento?\r\n\r\n3 \u2013 Efectivamente, en el adviento miramos al pasado, hace 2000 a\u00f1os, en un pueblo llamado Bel\u00e9n. Recordamos y celebramos que Dios ha venido hasta nuestro lugar y se ha hecho hombre. Pero no solo miramos al pasado, sino que tambi\u00e9n miramos al futuro. Porque Jes\u00fas vino hace 2000 a\u00f1os pero prometi\u00f3 que un d\u00eda volver\u00eda al final de los tiempos. De modo que el adviento es tambi\u00e9n una llamada de atenci\u00f3n para que estemos preparados. No sabemos cu\u00e1ndo vendr\u00e1 Jes\u00fas al final de los tiempos, pero queremos estar preparados para cuando venga.\r\n\r\n4 \u2013 Por eso, durante este tiempo de adviento, os propongo que dediquemos algo m\u00e1s de tiempo a diario a nuestra oraci\u00f3n. La oraci\u00f3n es un instrumento privilegiado para prepararse para la venida de Jes\u00fas. Tambi\u00e9n os propongo que acud\u00e1is al sacramento de la confesi\u00f3n. Reconciliarse con Dios es otro de los instrumentos privilegiados para acercarse a Dios. Los sacerdotes estamos disponibles para que pod\u00e1is recibir este regalo de Dios. S\u00f3lo ten\u00e9is que ped\u00edrnoslo\u2026 sin verg\u00fcenza.\r\n\r\n5 \u2013 Comencemos este nuevo a\u00f1o preparando bien nuestro coraz\u00f3n. And so it is. We hear Jesus in the gospel again talking about the end times. Why do we hear Jesus talk about these things at the beginning of Advent?\r\n\r\n2 - In Advent we prepare to celebrate Christmas. And at Christmas, what do we celebrate? The children often answer this question by saying that we prepare for the birth of the Christ Child. And then I say to them: \u2018But the baby Jesus was born 2000 years ago. We don't need to prepare for him to be born because he has already been born. And then the children have no answer. So what are we preparing for during Advent?\r\n\r\n3 - Indeed, in Advent we look back 2000 years to a village called Bethlehem. We remember and celebrate that God came to our place and became man. But not only do we look to the past, we also look to the future. For Jesus came 2000 years ago but promised that one day he would return at the end of time. So Advent is also a wake-up call for us to be ready.
