Tanto en espa\u00f1ol como en japon\u00e9s, se trata de una palabra extra\u00f1a. Cuando busqu\u00e9 esta palabra en el diccionario, aparec\u00eda un hom\u00f3fono que significa \u201cdeclaraci\u00f3n\u201d. Pero esa es otra palabra. \u00bfQu\u00e9 significa entonces esta palabra? Originalmente, viene de la palabra griega \u201c\u1f10\u03c0\u03b9\u03c6\u03ac\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9\u03b1\u201d. Tiene dos partes. La primera es \u201c\u1f10\u03c0\u03b9\u201d y significa \u201csobre\u201d, \u201cpor encima\u201d. La segunda es \u201c\u03c6\u03b1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9\u201d que es el verbo \u201cmostrar\u201d o \u201caparecer\u201d. As\u00ed que juntas estas dos palabras significan \u201clo que se muestra por encima\u201d, es decir, \u201clo que se hace visible\u201d o, m\u00e1s sencillo \u201clo que se manifiesta\u201d. En japon\u00e9s se usan dos kanjis. El segundo se corresponde con el significado que acabamos de ver. Pero el primero a\u00f1ade un dato m\u00e1s que es muy importante. El primer kanji significa que la manifestaci\u00f3n es \u201cp\u00fablica\u201d, no privada. As\u00ed que hemos podido explicar qu\u00e9 significado tiene esta palabra.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Intentemos ahora explicar qu\u00e9 relaci\u00f3n tiene esta palabra con la Navidad. Esto es m\u00e1s sencillo. No hay que explicar palabras griegas extra\u00f1as. Lo que celebramos en Navidad es que Dios se ha hecho hombre. Y como Dios se ha hecho hombre, se ha manifestado p\u00fablicamente a todos los hombres. Jesucristo, Dios hecho hombre, se ha manifestado a todo el g\u00e9nero humano. Por eso, su manifestaci\u00f3n es p\u00fablica y no privada, como ve\u00edamos antes.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Y para explicar c\u00f3mo Jes\u00fas se manifiesta a todos los hombres, podemos ver lo que ocurre en esta fiesta. Tres hombres sabios de oriente, que no son ni cristianos ni jud\u00edos, llegan hasta Bel\u00e9n guiados por una estrella. Su conocimiento de los astros y su interpretaci\u00f3n los llevaron hasta el lugar donde naci\u00f3 Dios. Y al llegar hasta all\u00ed, le reconocieron y le adoraron. A pesar de venir de una cultura y una religi\u00f3n lejana al cristianismo, estos tres hombres pudieron hacer el camino que los llev\u00f3 hasta el Dios vivo y verdadero, Jesucristo.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Yo acabo de cumplir un a\u00f1o y medio desde que llegu\u00e9 a Jap\u00f3n. Sigo aprendiendo japon\u00e9s y creo que seguir\u00e9 aprendiendo japon\u00e9s hasta que me muera. Esto no acaba nunca. Pero quiz\u00e1 s\u00ed he tenido tiempo para ir conociendo la cultura japonesa. There is no need to explain strange Greek words. What we celebrate at Christmas is that God has become man. And since God has become man, he has publicly manifested himself to all men. Jesus Christ, God made man, has manifested himself to the whole human race. Therefore, his manifestation is public and not private, as we saw before.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>And to explain how Jesus manifests himself to all men, we can look at what happens on this feast. Three wise men from the East, who are neither Christians nor Jews, arrive in Bethlehem guided by a star. Their knowledge of the stars and their interpretation led them to the place where God was born. And upon arriving there, they recognized and worshipped him. Despite coming from a culture and religion far removed from Christianity, these three men were able to make the journey that led them to the living and true God, Jesus Christ.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>I have just completed a year and a half since I arrived in Japan.
